LEADERSHIP

The leadership of Banwo Foundation is composed of the founding members, community leaders, and business leaders who  have a common goal of promoting self-development and empowerment. The Legacy Board and Board of Advisors have distinct roles and responsibilities to ensure the successful fulfillment of the organization's mission and vision.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

The Board of Advisors (Advisory Board) at Banwo Foundation is a distinguished group of individuals who offer non-binding strategic guidance and advice to the management team of the organization. Comprised of experienced professionals, experts, and community leaders, the Advisory Board plays a vital role in shaping the direction and impact of Banwo Foundation's initiatives.

 

Drawing from diverse backgrounds and expertise, members of the Advisory Board provide valuable insights, perspectives, and recommendations to help the foundation achieve its mission of empowering young women aged 18 to 24. With a shared commitment to empowerment, equity, and positive change, the Advisory Board collaborates closely with the management team to support strategic decision-making and drive meaningful impact in communities served by Banwo Foundation.

FOUNDER

TINU AKINYINKA-PENA, PMP

Tinu is the founder of the Banwo Foundation, established in memory of her mother, Banwo Akinyinka. A civil engineer-project manager and mother to two young adults, Miguel and Eleana. She is a multi-faceted professional with different ventures.

Towun is a founding member of Banwo Foundation, and the first born of Banwo Akinyinka. She is a pharmacist with founder of Med Scripts Pharmacy and the mother of Toni, Tobi, and Temi.

Tjay is a founding member of Banwo Foundation and the President of Texas Medical Response and the last born of Banwo Akinyinka. He is the father to Nife, Dara, and Iremi.

Laide is a founding member of the Banwo Foundation and Tjay's wife. A board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, she is also the president of The Renewed Mind Behavioral Health and Wellness Center. Laide is the mother to Nife, Dara, and Iremi.
